Raph Derome is one of the humblest individuals we’ve had the privilege to work with, and it wasn’t until two years after meeting him that we learned he’s one of the world’s best wakeboarders. Known for pushing the boundaries of his sport without seeking the spotlight, Raph is not just an athlete but an artist and visionary. When Raph and Justin, the director, invited us to collaborate, we were brought on to develop the visual style for this compelling documentary.

What began as a small role quickly evolved into over 80 hours of work. Our contributions included animating the entire graphic package, adding subtle motion to archival photos to bring them to life, and designing information-rich motion graphics that tied the narrative together. These elements were meticulously crafted to match the tone and depth of the documentary, ensuring they supported the story without overshadowing it.

At the time, it was hard to grasp the impact this project would have, but looking back, it’s clear this documentary was one of the most rewarding milestones of our early career. It was an honor to visually represent the story of an athlete who inspires through action, not words.
