The Lost Crystal

The Lost Crystal

In collaboration with freestyle skiing pioneer Phil Casabon, we developed a unique animated feature concept, "The Lost Crystal," blending anime influences with bold character design and imaginative storytelling. Though the project was ultimately shelved, it remains a testament to creative ambition.

Animating an Alter Ego

Animating an Alter Ego

Early in 2020, amidst the chaos of the pandemic, we connected with Phil Casabon, a trailblazer in freestyle skiing, through a mutual acquaintance. Phil approached us with an idea inspired by an out-of-body experience, leading to the creation of a story centered on his alter ego, B-Dog. The concept grew into a collaborative effort to produce "The Lost Crystal," an anime/cartoon-style animated feature.

Joined by illustrator Frank Boucher, we embarked on the ambitious task of bringing B-Dog to life. Initially planned as a short clip, the project expanded into a 26-minute animated feature. Over the course of a year, we worked on scriptwriting, art direction, test animations, and rigging, pouring our creativity into every step of the process.

Despite the dedication and energy invested, the scale of the project ultimately exceeded the available resources. An attempt to crowdfund the production fell short, forcing us to shelve the feature. What remains is a compilation of animated scenes that serve as a teaser for a film that will never see completion, standing as a testament to the power of vision and collaboration.
